It was all started when HP officially turned down WebOS and announced TouchPad on 99$ Clearance sale. This led developers to get something big out of 99$ 1.2 GHz Dual Core device. They returned strongly with installation of Android 2.2.1 on HP TouchPad and subsequently installation of CynogenMod 7 on HP TouchPad. Latest release of CyanogenMod 7.1 Alpha 1 brought Android 2.3.7 on HP TouchPad.
Things have gone even further as in recent video released by developers at meegoexperts showing discontinued
HP TouchPad running MeeGo 1.3CE operating system. Although video does not contain not more than just a boot splash of MeeGo which last for only few second but we may get something interesting in days ahead.
In case you have missed the specs, HP TouchPad powers 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core processor with 1GB of RAM. It has a 16GB or 32GB storage capacity along with Front-facing 1.3MP camera and digital microphone which allows you to make live video calls.
