Apple has just released iOS 5 firmware for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch which brings hundreds of new features. In addition that Apple as also released the final version of Mac OS X lion 10.7.2 integrated with iCloud service which was gone live this morning. After the release of iOS 5 we are sure that you will be looking to use Wi-Fi Sync option with newly released iTunes 10.5 and iOS 5. I have mentioned below a step by step procedure of Wi-Fi Sync with iTunes and iOS 5.

T if you are new to this then it is one of the best feature which has come with iOS 5 and iTunes 10.5 and allows users to
get rid of iPhone cable and now sync your iPhone with iTunes and iOS on Wifi rather than using conventional Apple cable connector. You will find following option on iTunes 10.5 to set it up first time for your iPhone.

Automatic Procedure

  1. Connect your iDevice with computer and open iTunes To activate sync option over Wi-Fi.
  2. Go to the Summary Tab, scroll down to the Options where you have to make sure that Wi-Fi syncing option is enabled or ticked. Once you are done with that, your device will start syncing over Wi-Fi provided that your device is plugged into a power source.
Manual Procedure
There is another manual procedure available in order to initiate a Wi-Fi sync whose steps are mentioned below.
  1. Go to the Settings>General.
  2. Choose ‘iTunes Wi-Fi Sync’ option and click on ‘Sync Now’ button.
