How to Install Siri Dictation on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, 3G, iPad 1 Using Siri0us [Jailbreak Tweak]

We have been covering stories about all the efforts being done to port iPhone 4S Siri Voice Assistant feature on older devices. Siri popularity has already reached to max and being claimed as one of the main reason of iPhone 4S success. According to the developments reported earlier Siri has been successfully ported to iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2 and iPod Touch 4G devices along with connectivity to Apple Servers to get response. However, developers refused to release the port for public due to some piracy issues along with some technical difficulties.

Now instead of waiting for the release of fully functional Siri on older devices, developer Eric Day has developed a rather partially functional Siri Assistant feature and put it together in a jailbreak tweak called Siri0us which can be installed on older jailbroken devices running iOS 5 firmware. Siri0us Jailbreak tweak brings the Nuance-powered dictation feature to the public.

In order to get it up and running on your device, just follow the below mentioned procedure and device compatibility details:

• iPhone 4
• iPhone 3GS
• iPod Touch 4G
• iPod Touch 3G
• iPad 1

Procedure

1-   Make sure your device is Jailbroken. Click here to tethered Jailbreak iOS 5.0/5.0.1 On iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad, iPod touch using RedSnOw or here for Snowbreeze.

2-   Launch Cydia and navigate to Mange > Sources > and add following repo :

http://apt.if0rce.com

3-   Now to Go to Search Tab in Cydia and search and install “Siri0us” on your device.

One done you are ready to play with Siri Assistant feature on your device

Guys over iDownloadBlog have also given the demo which clearly shows that Sirious jailbreak tweak really gives you a pleasant experience but obviously you won’t get the original iPhone 4S Siri Assistant feature. However, during the installation some users also reported bug which keeps your device Respringing but you can fix it.

The developer has noted a bug that some may run into when trying to install. If your iDevice keeps respringing, do not restore! Use a SSH tool to remove the /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AssistantServices.framework file.
