Launch of iPhone 4 marked the advent of official 720p HD Video recording however if you look at the spec sheet of iPhone 3GS ARM Cortex processor [PDF Spec] you will be surprised to know that it is capable of handling 720p HD video recording however that feature was suppressed by Apple for iPhone 3GS. This artificial limitation on iPhone 3GS can be by-passed using “3GS HD Enabler” Jailbreak Tweak thanks to Mike at MikePan Blog. After you have completed the procedure below you would be able to record 720p HD Video right from your iPhone 3GS. You can achieve 1080×800 @ 30fps at up to 20Mbps whereas default settings for video recording on iPhone 3GS is 640×480 @ 3Mbps.
See 720p HD Video Recording on iPhone 3GS below,
Note: You would require Jailbroken iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1 or iOS 4.2 (iOS 4.3 not tested) [to jailbreak visit here]
