Fix iTunes Error 3002, Error 3200 & Error 11 During iOS 5 Update iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad 2 and iPod Touch 4

Alongwith the launch of iOS 5 a huge number of Apple Device users are upgrading their devices and significant number of users are facing iTunes Error 3002, 3200 & 11 which can be avoided on both Mac and Windows by following the requirements mentioned in later part of the post.

If you are not upgrading the iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad 2 and iPod Touch 4 by simply pressing the upgrade button on iTunes rather you are using the shift+restore option to upgrade then you would face the Error 3002, 3200 & 11. Therefore in order to fix this Error you need to make sure that following points are followed,

  1. Check host files that they are pointing to gs.apple.com rather than localhost in case TinyUmbrella was used on your PC or Mac. Host files are located in C:>Windows>System32>Drivers>etc so you can change the host from 127.0.0.1 to gs.apple.com and later check it by typing gs.apple.com in Browser URL to see that its gives Apple 404.
  2. Make Sure that you are using the latest iTunes 10.5 which can be downloaded from here.
  3. Download the stock iOS 5 IPSW if you are Factory unlocked from here and software unlock can upgrade while preserving the baseband using Redsn0w from here.
  4. Launch iTunes and press Shift+Restore by pointing to the downloaded IPSW
In the process if you may face Error 3194 or Error 1600 however “An Internal Error has Occurred” Error is due to heavy load on Apple servers and you should try after a little break.
