Geohot has developed a jailbreak application Limera1n which works on new boot ROM exploit for iPhone, iPod and iPad in order to Jailbreak the iDevice. And the best of all is that this Jailbreak till iOS 4.3.3 is untethred.
Although you might have seen that original Limera1n didnt came in the limelight after iOS 4.1 Jailbreak for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G & iPod Touch 4G and iOS 3.2.2 for iPad however all the famous Jailbreak tools e.g. Redsn0w, PwnageTool, SnowBreeze or TinyUmbrella use Limera1n’s exploit at back end. The last version released for iOS 4.1 was Limera1n RC1b which can be downloaded from links below.

Procedure
- Connect your iDevice with PC/Mac
- Run Limera1n RC1b on Windows/Mac and you would be presented with screen below,
- Now press Home+Power button to enter in to DFU mode
- After 10 secs release the power button while holding the power button
- After 25 secs you device will enter into DFU mode
- Now limera1n will start its code injection into iDevice’s kernel.
- When complete you will see a ra1ndrop icon on your home screen.
- Open the Ra1ndrop application on your iPhone, iPad or iPod and click Cydia to install
- You are done with Jailbreaking your device. Now you can enjoy the goodies of Jailbreak Devices e.g. Themes, Tweaks, Applications etc.
