Install / Flash CyanogenMod 9 Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich On DROID 2 Global [Guide]

If you are Android users and visit our website on regular basis then you must be keeping yourself up to date about Android devices getting official or unofficial Android 4.0/4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich updates. Today we are bring an early build of CyanogenMod 9 based on Android 4.0.3 for the DROID 2 Global handset. An XDA developer ngocha2006 has released this ROM along with list the working as well non-working features. In this version of ROM only camera, Market and data (EDGE/3G) are not functioning properly and expected to resolved in future updates. Follow the step by step guide in order to install/flash it on your device.

Whats Needed

1-   Make sure your DROID 2 Global is rooted and ClockworkMod Recovery installed on it.

2-   Download CyanogenMod 9 Android 4.0.3 ICS for Droid 2 from here.

3-   Download ICS Google Apps from here.

Procedure

1-   Transfer all above mentioned downloaed files on your DROID 2’s /sdcard Root directory.

2-   Boot your device into ClockworkMod Recovery with the help of ROM Manager. In case you don’t have ROM Manager installed on your device then switch it off and then press and hold necessary buttons to boot into ClockworkMod.

3-   Now you need to take a nandroid backup. It will be used if you decided to revert back to your current set up.

4-   Once you are in ClockworkMod Recovery, first choose wipe data / factory reset  and then wipe Dalvik cache as well as wipe cache.

5-   Next step is to to flash ROM by going to “install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard >” and select N.HA D2G CM9-ICS 4.0.3 Alpha 1.zip.

6-  Repeat step 4 to flash Gapps ICS 4.0.3 11.12.22.zip.

7-  Reboot your device now from the option available in main menu.

If you have properly followed the above mentioned steps then your DROID 2 Global will be running now CyanogenMod 9 based based on Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich.
