Google Maps 6.0 Update For Android Now Brings Indoor Navigation For Airports, Malls, and Stores

Previous update of Google Maps for Android brought few changes out of which the main feature that has come is the addition of “live events” to the Places page. Now Google Maps has received another major update for Android devices named as version 6.0 bring new feature of indoor navigation but mostly available in Beta versions. It means after getting it on your smartphone, you will be able to find the quickest route to the closest malls or stores at that huge airport.

From Android Market (Changelogs):

  1. Indoor maps (beta) are now available for select airports, shopping malls, and more. Learn more at g.co/indoormaps
  2. Menu added to the top toolbar for easy switching between common features.
  3. Updated home screen for Places, now with popular searches based on your location.
  4. Option to disable automatic screen dimming for Navigation.

As we have mentioned above the features are available in Beta version which means currently not all mall and airport locations are fully supported but it is pretty much expected that Google will be updating and adding many more on regular basis. Along with new indoor navigation feature, GoogleMaps has also included new menu which allows you to easily navigate through various options and features. If you are interested then Google Maps for Android can be download right from Android Market.
