Android 3.4 Ice Cream Sandwich is the next big Android OS update which brings new featuring state of the art UI and advanced app framework. In Android 3.4 upgrade Google is looking for replacing all the different variations of Android and merging them to opt for Ice Cream Sandwich thereby creating harmony and enhance applications development processes. The statement came from Google’s executive chairman and former Chief Executive Officer Eric Schmidt during Q&A at DreamForce ’11, conference for cloud computing.
Schmidt announced that half a million devices are being activated per day,
550,000 phones are activated a day. That’s half a million phones per day, you can do the math. That number has doubled in 4 to 5 months, so if that continues it will, you know, fill the planet.
We have a new operating system, internally known as Ice Cream Sandwich for some reason, which is being released in October/November, which everyone’s really excited about.
RootzWiki have manged to get first screen shots of the Android Ice CreamSandwich. As you can see in the pictures that main application draw has been revamped and appears more like the Honeycomb app drawer.
