Samsung has sent a press release according to which they have called in an event on 15th August to announce the all new Galaxy Note 2. Rumours suggest that new device will be equipped with Quad Core Processor along with Stylus support. Also some suggest that it could be a bigger version with 10.1 inch screen in order to compete with Apple iPad 3.
One of the US retailers J&R has mistakenly given the Pre Release notification on their official website claiming that 16GB Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 for $499 and the 32GB model for $549 however they did not mention the release date.
