Nvidia announces Tegra 3 multi-core processor for tablets & phones

Couple of months ago we had reported that Qualcomm plans to upgrade their processor line for Quad Core Snapdragon ranging unto 2.5 GHz and lately it was Apple planning for A6 and higher chips supporting Quad Core. And now its Nvidia announcing their multi-core Tegra 3 processor range with Nvidia Tegra 3 code named “Kal-El” 1.4 GHz Quad Core ARM Cortex-A9 processor having 4 CPU Cores, 1 low power Core and 12 graphics Cores as the current release. This chip will equip tablets and smartphones and one of the device which has been launched today with this chip is Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime. We will witness upcoming models of high end tablets and smartphones equipped with quad core chips in early 2012.
