One of the major reason apple seed new iOS updates is to prevent users from jailbreaking their devices and that is why users are still waiting for Untethered jailbreak for latest iOS 5.x firmwares. In addition to bring new software patches, Apple and other companies also preventing users by developing Jailbreak detection apps which not only identifies a jailbroken handset but also stop the applications from running on a Jailbroken iDevice gives error “Jailbreak detected. App cannot run on a jailbroken device.”
Jailbreak community has come up with a tweak called xCon which actually bypass this jailbreak detection and let you run such applications on jailbroken device. Although, currently it is not supported for all the application but hopefully more applications will be added in future. Current list of apps includes:
- Bloomberg Anywhere
- Cablevision
- Cisco M-Learning
- DirecTV for iPad
- Grimm’s Fairy Tales
- Time Warner Cable
- Verizon On Demand /FlexView
