Swype Beta 3.25 Released for Android, Gesture based Shortcuts For Copying Text, Tweeting

Previously we gave you a brief overview about a popular Swype keyboard for iOS. Now, it has been updated to beta 3.25 for Android operating system which includes several news features such copy and paste features as well as gestures.

Many Android phones has already inbuilt copy/paste feature such as  HTC Sense UI phones but Swype has made it even more easier. Now in order to copy something you don’t have to remove your finger from the keyboard, then hold down and wait for the pop-up and hit paste. It’s all quick and easy using sliding gestures right on the keyboard.

Following features have been provided in latest version of Swype

 Gestures give you quick access to some of the most common tasks on your phone:

  • Editing gestures (Cut/Copy/Paste/Select All) make maniuplating text a breeze
    Cut – Swype from the Swype key to the X key
    Copy – Swype from the Swype key to the C key
    Paste – Swype from the Swype key to the V key
    Select-All – Swype from the Swype key to the A key
  • Application gestures (Twitter/Google Maps/Facebook) let you send highlighted text directly to your favorite apps
    Twitter – Swype from the Swype key to T-W to create a new tweet using the highlighted text
    Google Maps – Swype from the Swype key to G-M to search Google Maps for the highlighted text
    Facebook – Swype from the Swype key to F-B to create a new wall post on Facebook using the highlighted text
Swype measurement data: Swype now collects basic Swype usage data over-the-air to improve future versions of Swype. For more details click here, or read our privacy policy.
Swype BETA is available for devices with HVGA, WVGA, FWVGA, QVGA, WQVGA, WSVGA, and qHD screen sizes
A special Honeycomb-only WXGA version for Android tablets, with features like “moveable keyboard” that you won’t find anywhere else!

Swype is quite easy and simple to use. For example, It allows you to quickly copy an entire line of text, then with the help of new Swype gesture feature and it will let you in Google Maps and search for it. So now you don’t have to worry about your misspelling addresses or zip codes or anything. You can also copy text and it will quickly let you into Twitter using the Skype Key + TW gesture. Same thing works for Facebook as well.
