Samsung Galaxy Nexus Announced with IceCream Sandwich, Key Features And Release Date

Google and Samsung announced the latest Android IceCream sandwich along with Samsung Galaxy Nexus which will be the next flagship smartphone for Samsung equipped with Android IceCream Sandwich during joint media event at HongKong today. Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the first device to be shipped with IceCream Sandwich featuring huge 4.65 inch display Super AMOLED display with 720p resolution supporting 1080p video recording in panoramic mode on 5MP Camera.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus specifications are,

  • 16/32 GB Builtin Storage with MicroSD Support
  • 4.65-inch 720 x 1280 Super AMOLED Display
  • CDMA 1X, EVDO Rev-A, LTE Wireless Technology
  • Android 4.0 IceCream Sandwich
  • 5 MP Back Camera with 1080p video recording
  • 1.3 MP Front Camera

These specs are almost near Samsung Galaxy S 2 which is even higher in Camera Department with 8 MP camera however the new features of IceCream Sandwich might compel Android users to upgrade to Galaxy Nexus e.g. Facial Unlock using Face Recognition.

The power management and battery department has got significant improvements alongwith major design improvements such as slip free back cover design. It is expected that device will hit the EU and US market during later part of next month.
