We have already reported on how to root Epic 4G Touch a Samsung Galaxy S II variant using two different methods. Now great news has come for variants of Samsung Galaxy S II on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile US wireless carriers can now also be rooted as reported by Rootzwiki. However, today we will guide to step by step on how to root T-Mobile’s Galaxy S II variant.
IMPORTANT:-
THE PROCEDURE I AM GOING TO WRITE NOW IS ALL AT YOUR OWN RISK. I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE IF IT GETS FAILED!!!!!
Whats Needed
1- Download and Install Samsung Kies from [Here]. It is required to install the correct USB drivers, so the programs can communicate with the device. Reboot your computer after the “Kies” installation.
2- Download ODIN v1.85 from here.
3- Download ClockworkMod Recovery for T-Mobile Galaxy S II from here
4- Download Superuser zip file from here
Rooting Procedure
1- Once you are finished with the installation of Samsung Kies, Launch ODIN which will make sure that windows recognizes your phone.
2- Switch off your phone, hold Volume Up + Volume Down and then connect your device to a computer via USB cable.
3- Once ODIN is able to recognize your device, Press the PDA button and navigate torecovery-cwm-hercules.tar.
4- Pres Start and now it will flash tar file in to your phone and then reboot.
5- Once your device is fully rebooted, mount USB storage and copy the Superuser zip downloaded in “Whats Needed” to the SD card.
6- Now power off your T-Mobile Galaxy S II and unplug USB cable. Hold Volume Up + Volume Downand click the Power button.
7- It will take you into ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery. Now go to backup and storage > backup to take a nandroid backup of your device.
8- Once you are done with the backup then go to install zip from sd card > select zip file from sdcard > su-3.0.5-efgh-signed.zip.
9- Now reboot off your T-Mobile Galaxy S II by selecting option from main menu.
Thats it!!!! Now you have a fully rooted T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy II
