Retina Display iPad 3 Codename Found in Hidden iOS 5 Code

Recently we reported you about Digitimes remour that Apple is planning to bring slightly modified version of iPad 2 probably named iPad 2S with changes in Processing, Battery and Camera department followed by launch of iPad 3 in 3rd Quarter 2012 which will be a complete redesign with new features and hardware.

9to5Mac has discovered a new codename in the latest iOS 5 betas is now almost aligns with the Digitimes reports about upcoming iPad 3 in which they mentioned about the 2 different codenames(j1,J2) of upcoming prototype models that apple is currently working on.

Apple is currently giving two tablet PC projects codenamed J1 and J2 to its upstream partners for development. The sources revealed that the major differences of the new tablet PCs compared to the previous model are their size, specifications and technologies.

Since the new tablet PCs have a higher resolution, Apple has demanded the design of the light source to be changed from a single LED light bar to two LED light bars on the left and right sides of the machine, but since the method of adopting two LED light bars has created difficulty in shrinking the machine’s thickness, some vendors have come out with designs that only adopt one light bar, but are packing two LED chips into one package.

We also reported earlier that iPad 3 is also expected t follow the same life cycle however the only major setback can be the price of 9.7 inch Retina display. Apple is significantly reducing the life cycle for its tablet division which is allowing Apple to gain considerable tablet market.
