PhoneIt-iPad Updated to Support iOS 5, Make Phone Calls on Your 3G iPad

As you already aware that iPad 3G and iPad 2 3G contains SIM module but the functionality is restricted to 3G data usage only but possibility of making calls and SMS is very much there. In order to get this functionality, We already reviewed PhoneIt-iPad cydia jailbreak app developed by folks at iPhoneIslam allows you to receive Calls and SMS from your iPad or  iPad 2 3G version. The best part of this app is, you don’t require any special hardware to enable this feature but only a Jailbroken iPad 3G. iPad 3G users who have been upgraded to latest firmware can now also get this functionality as it has been updated to support iOS 5 firmware.

Whats Needed

In order to get this Cydia App on your iPad, make sure you device is Jailbroken. Click here to tethered Jailbreak iOS 5.0/5.0.1 On iPad using RedSnOw or here for Snowbreeze.

Note

As you are already aware that currently no jailbreaking solution is available for iPad 2 running iOS 5. Therefore, this jailbreak app only works on the original iPad with 3G.

Procedure

1. Open Cydia and add the iPhoneIslam repository http://apps.iphoneislam.com.
2. Search for PhoneItiPad in Cydia, download and Install at a price tag of $19.99
3. Reboot your device
4. Now 3G iPad can make and receive SMS and Calls
