Nokia launches 26 free WiFi hotspots in London, Plans to Add more

On the verge of Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 launch Nokia has partnered with UK’s leading independent WiFi provider Spectrum Interactive to provide Free Wifi services on trial basis all across London. The trials will start from today onwards from these 26 WiFi hotspots and will continue to offer free internet services till the end of this year in order to monitor the consumer trends and interaction methodologies. If the trial stood successful then both the companies plan to extend the services to rest of London.

It has been reported that once the device has been connected to this free network it will remain connected for ever with requiring you to re-login every time. Simon Alberga, Chairman Spectrum Interactive has said the download speeds will be limited to 1 Mbps and 500 kbps upload speed.

Spectrum Interactive owns 1800 pay phone kiosks all across UK and 1000 in London only. Nokia has planned to add location of these 26 hotspots in Maps application so that locating these hotspots becomes easy. So if you are Nokia fan then you can simply plan to buy Nokia Lumia 800 or Lumia 710 this year and enjoy the free WiFi in London.
