iMovie is one of the favorite Movie Editing Application but the bad part is its limited to iPhone 4 users only. But hay wait a sec Jailbreak community is here for the rescue as always. Here is a small work around after which you would be able to run iMovie on your iPhone 3GS.
1- Download iMovie (v1.0) .ipa file from here
2- Right click on the file and select compress.
3- Once you are done with step 2, you will notice that a folder will be created which will contains files : iTunes Artwork , iTunesMetadata.plist and Payload folder.
4- Pay load folder mentioned in step 3 will contain the app file “iMovie.app”
5- Right click on “iMovie.app”, select show packages and search for info.plist. At this stage you will require to make few changes.
5a- Change the firmware version if it doesn’t match with the firmware you are on currently.
5b- Uncheck the front facing camera and save the file to the same location.
6- Connect your iPhone with computer, launch iSpirit File Manager and copy “iMovie.app” from your computer to iPhone directory path “/Applications”.
7- Go to info at the top and change the permission to 0775.
8- Reboot your iPhone and you will notice a new icon called iMovie in your iPhone 3G S
9- Application will work properly but u will see a white icon. In order to get the proper iMovie icon, just go to cydia and install.
