You might have already used iTunes directory to browse, discover, and download podcasts but yet to find away to subscribe to the podcast’s feed directly from your iDevice. However, as always every requirement can be converted into an app. An application called iCatcher has been made available on App store for the same purpose
iCatcher is a great solution which allows you to download, stream, subscribe to, and manage podcasts on iOS device. Whatever feature you are looking for in podcast app will hopefully be available in iCatcher.
1- iCatcher provides user friendly interface for subscribing to podcasts. Users can find podcasts by searching for podcast name, author, or keyword. However, discovery of podcasts inside iCather is limited as there is no way you can browse the official iTunes directory for podcast.
2- iCatcher gives you the facility to browse the web in search of a podcast’s RSS feed. However, users can browse only third-party directories as browsing of official iTunes directory is not available. Moreover, users can also have the facility to manually enter a podcast feed, with authorization (username and password) support.
3- Using iCatcher you can also manage both a large or small number of podcasts. Once you are able to set iCatcher then only with a tap of a button, you can refresh all subscribed podcast feeds and download new releases.
4- Podcasts will begin downloading as soon as your feeds finish refreshing. iCatcher currently does not have support for simultaneous downloading which is an ideal feature for users with capable network speeds. Users can create a playlist either by selecting individual podcasts or by creating a playlist by using keywords, such as “iPad” or “Apple news.”
5- Once you are finished with subscribing to a podcast feed then user can view all episodes that exist in said feed. Users can also stream or download old episodes, view show notes, refresh the individual feed and edit settings for that individual podcast.
6- AirPlay feature is also supported in iCatcher which means users can play podcasts with different speeds through their Apple TV or through any other device with supports AirPlay feature.
7- You can also export your podcasts in to an .OPML format.
iCatcher is becoming one of the best application for iOS and can be downloaded from App Store for $1.99.
