How To Root Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 Using Chainfire Auto-Root

As we are anxiously waiting to get hands on the new Samsung flagship Galaxy S4, we already have the root procedure to run even more powerful apps on upcoming device. News had come from Chainfire himself that there is no root yet available for Galaxy S4 as it has become far more difficult to root due to induction of SU binaries however it has finally been achieved by none else than Chainfire himself.

Its worth noting that this Root is only avaiaible for firmware XXUAMD2 whereas rest of the varients are still un-rootable. Please proceed on your own risk.

  • Samsung Galaxy S4 with firmware XXUAMD2
  • Chainfire Root Application [Download]
  • Odin 3

Step 1:Boot Samsung Galaxy S4 in Download mode by holding Volume Down + Home + Power button.

Step 3: Launch Odin3 and connect Galaxy S4 on download mode to the PC using USB cable. Odin will detect by displaying COM Port.

Step 4: Under PDA, select the .tar.md5 file that you extracted from Chainfire Auto-Root package downloaded above. Make sure that Re-Partition is unchecked leave rest of settings untouched. Press Start to flash.

Step 5: Once flash is completed, the device will automatically reboot with a red Android logo.
