How to Install/Flash Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich With Sense 3.5 For HTC Sensation [Tutorial]

Early builds Android 4.0/4.0.1/4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich are continue to hit the popular developer forums for several Android devices. Today, Developer robocik has brought an early build of Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich alongwith HTC Sense 3.5 for HTC Sensation handset. As we mentioned in previous posts related to port of  unofficial ICS ROMs on Android devices, wait for the official ROM if you are more concerned about stability. In this version, the only problem which has been mentioned by the developer is you cannot set wallpaper from Gallery.

If you like HTC Sense and which you could have it with a dose of Ice CreamSandwich, your wait is over: XDA Recognized Developer robocik has posted the first ICS ROM with Sense 3.5 for the HTC Sensation. The ROM is still a beta, but most of the core functionality works just fine, and even includes Face Unlock, among other ICS features.

Whats Needed

1-   Make sure your HTC Sensation is rooted with S-OFF and ClockworkMod Recovery installed on it.

2-   Download Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense 3.5 ROM for HTC Sensation from here.

Procedure

1-   Transfer all above mentioned downloaed files on your HTC Sensation’s /sdcard Root directory.

2-   Boot your device into ClockworkMod Recovery with the help of ROM Manager. In case you don’t have ROM Manager installed on your device then switch it off and then press and hold necessary buttons to boot into ClockworkMod.

3-   One you are in ClockworkMod Recovery mode, take a nandroid backup by going to backup & restore > backup. It will be used if you decided to revert back to your current set up.

4-   Once you are in ClockworkMod Recovery, first choose wipe data / factory reset  and then wipe Dalvik cache as well as wipe cache.

5-   Next step is to to flash ROM by going to “install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard >” and select downloaded Android 4.0.1 ICS ROM with Sense 3.5

6-  Reboot your device now from the option available in main menu.

If you have properly followed the above mentioned steps then your HTC Sensation will be running now on Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich with Sense 3.5.
