How To Install Android Ice Cream Sandwich Alpha Build On HTC HD2

Recently reported you that Google has released the source code of upcoming Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.1 operating system for developers. Now, we have already getting news from various developers showing port of Android Ice Cream Sandwich on some of the most powerful and popular devices. We have already showed you the procedure to port ICS 4.0 on Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy S II smartphones and now we are going to discuss about port of Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.1 on HTC HD2 smartphone.

 

IMPORTANT

The available Ice Cream Sandwich alpha build can be straight away installed on HTC HD2 but most of the features such as HW acceleration, audio, USB mass storage and camera are not working. So we strongly suggest you to wait for the more stable version.

Installation:

  • Please use at least 190MB system partition (and at least 2MB cache partition).
  • Full Wipe.
  • Flash the ROM.
    • MAGLDR: Flash NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich_Beta1.zip, then reboot.
    •   cLK  : Flash NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich_Beta1.zip and cLK_kernel_for_ICS_Beta1.zip, then reboot.

If you are new to this, Google has recently launched first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich device called Samsung Galaxy Nexus for UK and USA customers. In post, we had seen tremendous support for iPhone 4S and iOS 5 right from release however in benchmarks Apple had been easily put to back by its Android competitor.
