How To Download And Install CyanogenMod 9 Android 4.x ICS ROM On Original Galaxy Tab [Tutorial]

We have been keeping you up to date about newly released Custom ROMs for upgrading older devices to Android Ice Cream Sandwich since Google released the source code of their latest mobile operating system. Another Custom Android Ice Sandwich ROM based on CyanogenMod 9 has been released by an XDA Developer for original 7-inch Galaxy Tab. It is an Alpha version of CyanogenMod 9 ICS ROM and has lack of camera support. You can follow the step by step guide in order to flash it on your Galaxy Tab.

Procedure

1-   Download CM9-SGT7-TE4M-RC020120127.zip from here.

2-   Download the appropriate kernel. P1000L, P1000 and P1000N users can get theirs from here (P1000) or here (P1000N).

3-   Extract the .tar file, get zImage filename and then replace it in “P1000L CM9 ROM” zip package.

4-   Flash (stl9/10/11 | mmcblk0p2 – need to be ext4). If you’re on stock gb, flash overcome kernel and allow it to convert.

5-   Now reboot your device into recovery and flash the .zip. Although it is not necessary to wipe data as normally required but you are suggested to do so as it brings more stability.

6-   Thats it!!!! You are not ready to run a stable ICS on your original Galaxy Tab.
