Although it was rumored that MeeGo has been turned down as obsolete and a new contender named Tizen has started developing but folks out there having Nokia N9 who rely on MeeGo can still rejoice as the PR1.1 update has been released for the device. As we had already reported that Asus is also not given up on MeeGo development and is till working on devices running MeeGo OS so the case for Nokia also turned out the same or it may be the last variant of the OS.
The new version 20.2011.40-4 bring along lots of goodies including NFC tag reading capabilities, swipe keyboard, music controls and more features as mentioned below,

- Close apps easily with swiping down, now on by default
- New indicators for standby screen like charging and calendar etc.
