Apple has released iOS 5.0.1 which still does not provide untethered Jailbreak therefore you have to stick with stock iOS functions and cannot enjoy Jailbreak tweaks. In addition you might be facing Battery Issues which would have collectively compelled you to take reversion decision. Therefore we had though to provide you step by step guide to downgrade iOS 5.0.1 to 4.3.3 to get untethered Jailbreak.

Note: Before you proceed make sure that you have saved SHSH blobs for iOS 4.3.3.

Whats Needed

Procedure to Downgrade

  1. Simply run TinyUmbrella and connect your iDevice with PC or Mac. Start TSS server by clicking “Start TSS Server” below.
  2. Keep TinyUmbrella Running and open iTunes. Press shift+restore and select iOS 4.3.3 firmware to downgrade.

  3. Once the restore will complete it will give you an Error 1015. On getting this error close iTunes and open TinyUmbrella and right click your device under Recovery Devices and press Exit Recovery and you are done. Congratulations your device is downgraded.
  4. If your device is not recovered, goto Advanced tab and un-check “Set hosts to Cydia on exit” and perform restore again. Hopefully it will work and if not feel free to comment you problem below.

i have an iphone 4 cdma with ios 5.0.1 and want to downgrade it to ios 4.2.8

      Hi
What i found in the past is that if itunes doesnot complete restoring an iPhone or keeps hanging into a restoring loop, is to jailbreak the phone by using the greenpois0n 4.2.1 jailbreak.
So far it helped me jailbreaking several phones and finishing a restore at the same time.
Just google “Greenpois0n jailbreak 4.2.1″ for a manual

  • Andy

Wonderful! works on my iPad 2 as well. Cheers koolmobile
