If you are an Android fan then you must have heard about CyanogenMod 7, provides custom Android operating system or firmware offer features which you can’t find in official Android based firmware. Recently we have covered a story which includes a Demo video on how to install CyanogenMod 7 on HP Touch Pad.
Now CyanogenMod 7 has released their latest builds for HTC Sensation and EVO 3D Handsets. Before we jump over to the procedure it is important to mention here that this is an Alpha build and there are bugs which currently being worked out.
On the HTC Sensation, the following bugs exist:
- Recording 1080P video for a couple of minutes causes a soft reboot
- Misc minor scaling issues
- Skype requires a speaker toggle for audio to work correctly
- WiFi calling FCs on boot for EU Sensations
- Bluetooth headset has not been tested
On the HTC EVO 3D, the following bugs exist:
- Bluetooth doesn’t work
- Netflix has a security issue
- Wimax isn’t functioning
- Keyboard is massive (use an alternative keyboard from the market)
- Taking 3D videos and images currently don’t work
- 3D pictures do not display in 3D
- FFC takes pics upside down
- Battery gauge not working properly
Procedure for HTC Sensation
First time flashing CM 7 to your Sensation (or coming from another ROM)
1- Download ROM from here
2- Unlock/root your device and install Clockwork Recovery via ROM Manager
3- Do a Nandroid backup!
4- WIPE
5- Install the ROM
6- Optionally install the Google Addon
3- Do a Nandroid backup!
4- WIPE
5- Install the ROM
6- Optionally install the Google Addon
If you are upgrading from earlier CM7 or nightly build then
1- Do a Nandroid Backup!
2- Install the ROM (your Google apps will be backed up automatically)
2- Install the ROM (your Google apps will be backed up automatically)
Procedure for HTC EVO 3D
First time flashing CM 7 to your Evo 3D (or coming from another ROM)
1- Download ROM from here.
2- Unlock/root your device and install twrp or Clockwork Recovery(You MUST be NAND unlocked!)
3- Do a Nandroid backup!
4- Update your radio if necessary
5- WIPE
6- Install the ROM
7- Optionally install the Google Addon
3- Do a Nandroid backup!
4- Update your radio if necessary
5- WIPE
6- Install the ROM
7- Optionally install the Google Addon
Upgrading from earlier CM7 or nightly build
1- Do a Nandroid Backup!
2- Install the ROM (your Google apps will be backed up automatically)
