Recently we reviewed Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich most admired feature Face Unlock, a facial recognition unlock software gives the ability to use your own face to unlock your smartphone or tablet. Although feature has already gained a lot of popularity in android world but question are being asked about it’s security. It has been already proved through various experiments conducted worldwide demonstrating how facial unlock system can be bypassed using only a photograph of the owner.
Similarly in case of iOS platform we also remember a jailbreak app called RecognizeMe which actually uses iPhone 4 front facing camera to scan you face at unlocking time and varify it with saved samples in order to decide if you are the real owner of iPhone. But now reports are coming through various sites talking about a new application is in development which will bring Ice Cream Sandwich Face Unlock feature on iOS devices. Application is currently in development phase and expected to be available on App store in near future.
