4 Million iPhone 4S Sold During First Weekend

We are talking about Apple’s latest iPhone 4S which was supposed to be take as not more than an upgraded model of iPhone 4 has brought some interesting and unexpected sales results during first weekend of its launch. Apple has just announced that 4 Million iPhone 4S handsets have been sold in just three days of launch which is more than double iPhone 4 handsets launched during first weekend last year.

According to the apple press release, Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing said:

iPhone 4S is off to a great start with more than four million sold in its first weekend—the most ever for a phone and more than double the iPhone 4 launch during its first three days. iPhone 4S is a hit with customers around the world, and together with iOS 5 and iCloud, is the best iPhone ever.

In addition to iPhone 4S record breaking weekend, Apple has also announced that almost 25 Million copies of iOS 5 operating system has been downloaded and 20 million users have setup iCloud accounts after it was launched on
October 12.

It is pertinent to mention here once again that iPhone 4S has been launched only in seven countries which includes  United States, Australia, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Canada and Japan. Now you can imagine what will happen when it is going to be available in 70 countries by the end of this year.
